How We Install Your Driveway

Six stages, plain English. From enquiry to aftercare, here's what to expect — and when.

Process

Our process, end to end

01
Enquiry
Same day

What we do: You call or send a message via the form. We log the enquiry, check we cover your area, and book in a site visit — usually within 3–5 working days, sometimes same-week if you're flexible.

You: What we need from you: postcode, rough size of the drive, and what surface you're considering (or "not sure" — we'll talk you through both at the visit).

02
Site visit
45 minutes on site

What we do: We come to you. We measure the driveway, check the existing surface and base, look at drainage, discuss your edging and colour preferences, and bring physical samples of resin blends and Tobermore borders. This is where most customers narrow down their decision.

You: You don't need to commit at the visit. We'll send the quote in writing after.

03
Quote
Within 48 hours

What we do: We send a fixed-price written quote with the surface, colour, edging style and approximate timeline included. The price you see is the price you pay — no extras, no padding.

You: If you want changes (different blend, different edging, different size), we adjust the quote and resend. No pressure to accept.

04
Ground prep
1–3 days on site

What we do: Once you sign off and we agree a start date, we begin with the ground prep. This means: full excavation to the right depth, removal of the old surface (or assessment for overlay if applicable), laying and compacting Type 1 MOT sub-base in layers, installing edging, and tying in drainage.

You: The driveway is unusable during this stage. Park on the street.

05
Install
2–4 days on site

What we do: Tarmac: machine-laid in one or two days, then roller-compacted to a sealed finish. Resin: hand-trowelled by our fully trained crew over 1–2 days, then left to cure.

You: The driveway remains unusable during install and for the first 24–48 hours after for resin, immediately walkable after rolling for tarmac.

06
Aftercare
Handover + 12 months

What we do: We do a final clean, walk you through the driveway, hand over a written aftercare brief (what to do, what to avoid in the first month), and email you both your 5-year workmanship guarantee certificate and the 20-year premium-grade warranty registration if you've gone for resin.

You: For the first 12 months, we follow up at the 3-month and 12-month marks to check everything's holding up. Anything we missed, we fix.

Total timeline

Start to finish, typical project

For most domestic driveways: roughly 2–3 weeks from enquiry to handover. That's 1 week from enquiry to quote, 1 week between quote acceptance and start date, and 1 week on site for prep and install.

Larger projects take longer; tight-access sites take longer; bad weather can shift dates. We're honest about all three before you sign anything.
